The EURO-NOTES Clinical Registry is a combined platform of the European Assosiation Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). The registry has been developed to compile safety data to be used by ethical committees in order to authorize human trials and to implement the interface between medical societies, industry and regulatory offices.
Within in its first 10 months of activity, 350 cases were enrolled from different centers, encompasing transvaginal, transgastric, transanal and even transesophageal procedures. Unsurprisingly, cholecystectomy is the most represented procedure, however abdominal cavity exploration, appendectomy, bowel resection, necrosectomy and others are also reported.
Based on an extremely flexible and expandable architecture, the EURO-NOTES registry displays several features, including the upload and streaming of videos related to each procedure. This contains an online statistical analysis by t-Student and chi-square tests comparing selected groups of patients. In all cases privacy is respected by accessing anonymous data.
